On March 22, LBS students participated in the Long Night of Companies 2017 career event. 40 companies took part in the event this year, opening their doors to interested students. Some of the prominent companies included: Accenture, Allianz, Bank Austria, Deloitte, Erste Group, E&Y, H&M, Lidl, Hofer, Nespresso, Nestle, pwc, REWE international, T-Mobile and many more.

On Tuesday, March 21, IML 2016 class had a day dedicated to Design Thinking and New Product Development (NPD) as part of their Creativity and Innovation Course with Dr. Stephan Jung. During the session, students were encouraged to come up with original ideas to either create innovation or to focus on problem solving of a particular issue and thereby satisfy a certain need.

LBS teams up with the Institute for Advanced Studies to run pilot for RRI course

The Institute for Advanced Studies (Institut für Höhere Studien, IHS) (link to http://www.ihs.ac.at/) developed a modular curriculum as part of the European project HEIRRI: Higher Education Institutions & Responsible Research and Innovation. The project aims to integrate the concept of “Responsible Research and Innovation”, or RRI, focusing on universities and other higher education institutions (HEI).

Austria introducing a Start-up Visa

The Austrian government has proposed easier visa regulations for start-up founders coming from non-EU countries. Secretary of State Mahrer suggested that entrepreneurs will be granted a residence and work permit for two years if all the prerequisites are met.
