Prof. (FH) Dr. Tamás Csermely, MSc

Tamás Csermely is the Director of Studies of the two Master programs at the Lauder Business School. He used to work as the Head of Procurement at Quantoras, an Austrian technology-based consulting company, where he was responsible for managing the purchasing team, leading dozens of large-scale supply chain projects and also for the company’s strategic direction. He made a name for himself on saving 14.2% on average in several branches (base chemicals, metals, automotive, textile, pharmaceutical, foundry, construction, etc.) for the company’s clients – which in several cases were world market leaders in their segments. He also worked in the Emerging Markets/Quantitative Research/Asset Allocation division of Raiffeisen Bank International and as a research and teaching associate at the WU Vienna during his early career.

He holds a Ph.D. in operations management and logistics (University of Vienna), an M.Sc. in management and consulting (University of Pécs) and a Professorial bestowal (Lauder Business School). In addition, he attended Indiana University Bloomington – Kelley School of Business with a one-year full scholarship. He published several articles in scientific and professional journals and his research on managerial decisions in operations- and behavioral economics-related settings has also been featured in Die Presse. Tamás firmly believes in applied, case study- and experience-based teaching. He is an affiliate of the Microeconomics of Competitiveness Network of the Harvard Business School. Moreover, he has presented his research at several renowned conferences and held talks at the Universities of Oxford, Toronto, Cologne, Cornell, Shanghai, etc. He also serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (JEBO), the International Journal of Production Economics (IJPE), Applied Economics Letters (AEL), the Journal of Risk, the Journal of Business Economics (JBE) and the Journal of Risk and Uncertainty (JRU). He proved his stress resistance by answering 10 questions correctly in the “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” TV show.

Mag. Tamara Albrecht

Tamara Albrecht holds a Master in Commercial Sciences from Vienna’s University of Economics and Business.

She has longstanding experience in the bank and capital markets. Besides issuance of domestic and international capital market transactions, she executed corporate bond mandates as lead and co-lead manager for Austrian corporate customers. In 2017 she issued the first international Social Covered Bond (ESG; EUR 300 mn) in Austria. Mrs. Albrecht has also a lot of trading experiences (commercial papers and wholesale deposits). On the asset side she has worked as senior portfolio manager in structured finance and in the syndicated loan business.

She is working as consultant and lecturer.

Dr. Johannes Asel LL.B. (WU), MIM (CEMS)

Johannes Asel works for Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB), the central bank of the Republic of Austria, as a Principal Equity Interests and Payments Manager. Previously, he also worked for the European Central Bank (ECB), was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the WHU – the Otto Beisheim School of Management as well as a Research Associate and Lecturer at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. He graduated with a summa cum laude from his PhD in Strategic Management and Management Control.

Prof. (FH) Mag. Dr. Donald Baillie

Donald Baillie completed both his Master’s degree and his Doctorate in Vienna. He is also certified as a Risk Manager (GARP FRM), Analytics Professional (INFORMS CAP), Business Analyst (IIBA CBAP), Project Manager (PMI PMP), as well as a stock and options trader (Vienna Stock Exchange). Dr. Baillie has more than 25 years of experience working internationally in Banking and Finance and is currently Managing Director of BDO Consulting GmbH, a subsidiary of the international Tax and Audit company. His activities include projects in the fields of Finance, Risk Management, Analytics and IT. He has taught extensively at various universities in Austria for the past 15 years and was awarded the title of Professor (FH) for his services to academia. His publications have been in the field of banking, corporate finance, derivatives, and behavioral finance.

Dr. Stefan Bauer

Stefan is an innovation enthusiast, education designer, and a passionate researcher. He is a university lecturer at several universities among others Lauder Business School, University of Applied Sciences Vienna and University Reykjavik. His interests include digital innovation, user experience, management of information security, employee experience, business data analysis, and artificial intelligence. Prior to joining Talent Garden as Innovation School Director, Stefan was driving the digital transformation of traditional banking business by developing a digital banking platform at BAWAG P.S.K. In 2016, he received a doctoral degree in Information Systems from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He is a certified Project Manager and was the elected chairman of the student agency of doctoral students. Moreover, he was awarded the ERSTE Bank Prize for Research in CEE 2012. His scientific work has been published in top academic journals, including Data Base for Advances in Information Systems, and Computers & Security.

Dr. Mag. Georg Behm

A graduate of Copenhagen Business School and the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Georg Behm started his career in Finance, Performance and Treasury Management at Accenture and Schwabe, Ley & Greiner. At present, he is Managing Director at Vienna-based NEROM & Partner, an M&A and corporate finance advisory, which he co-founded in 2011. Furthermore, he acts as a Generally Sworn and Court Certified Expert in Valuation and Business Planning and teaches finance subjects at several universities of applied sciences.

Univ.- Doz. Mag. Dr. Claus Ebster, MSc, MBA

Claus Ebster has had a varied and widespread career in business and education. After studying in the US and Vienna, where he took his habilitation in Business Administration, he has taught extensively. Claus Ebster is associate professor (Universitätsdozent) of business administration at the University of Vienna and has extensive teaching experience at both the Vienna Medical University and Webster University. In addition to this, he is also the author of numerous academic articles and textbooks on marketing research, shopper marketing as well as the techniques of academic writing. Moreover, he is also the founder of Market Mentor Consulting.

Mag. Dr. Thomas Eidenberger

Thomas Eidenberger holds a Bachelor and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the JKU in Linz. He has 30 years experience in leadership positions in sales & marketing and finance in Europe and Asia. His strength lies in internationalization and the structuring of financial concepts as well as financial engineering catering for diverse corporate situations. Since 2012 Thomas is self-employed business consultant, with projects in industrial engineering & construction, finance services, the building sector, automobile & medical suppliers and trade and transportation. He lectures in various universities and universities of applied sciences. Finally Thomas is certified More Than Checks consultant, catering for Change and Staff Management and Senior Partner of BATCON Business & Technology Unternehmensberatung GmbH.

Mag. Helmut Ettl

Helmut Ettl was born on August 23, 1965 studied Economics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. After completing his alternative service, he worked in various managerial positions for the City of Linz child-welfare services. In 1995, he moved to Vienna and joined the Foreign Research Division of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB), his thematic focus being on economic and monetary union. In 2001, he was appointed deputy head of the Banking Analysis and Inspections Division and became its head in 2003. In 2008, Helmut Ettl was appointed as FMA Executive Director.

Since 2011 he has been a member of the Board of Supervisors of the European Banking Authority (EBA) and European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB). Between 2008 and 2010 Helmut Ettl was a member of the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS). His current term as FMA Executive Director runs until 14 February 2023. Since January 2014 Helmut Ettl has been a voting member of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism of the European Central Bank (ECB).

Prof. (FH) Dr. Armin J. Kammel, LL.M. (London), MBA (CLU) Ehrenprofessor (Donau-Universität Krems)

Prof. (FH) Dr. Armin J. Kammel, LL.M. (London), MBA (CLU) is an interdisciplinary lawyer, scholar and experienced executive specialized in banking law, securities regulation, business law and financial markets. He holds degrees in both law and business administration from prestigious universities in his native Austria and abroad.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Kammel is working for KPMG Austria in its financial services regulatory advisory practice. Moreover, he has more than sixteen years of experience as executive in the financial services industry working as Head of Legal & International Affairs with the Austrian Association of Investment Fund Management Companies (VÖIG) and serving on the Board of Directors of both the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA) and the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA). Moreover, Prof. (FH) Dr. Kammel is a court-certified expert (Allgemein beeideter und gerichtich zertifizierter Sachverständiger) in the areas of credit, banks and exchanges.

Dr. Kammel is Professor (FH) of Banking Law and Securities Regulation at Lauder Business School (LBS), Vienna, Austria and has been Ehrenprofessor (Honorary Professor) and Faculty Member as well as Program Coordinator (LL.M./MLS in International Banking Law and Capital Markets) at Danube University Krems (DUK), Austria. Moreover, Prof. (FH) Dr. Kammel also holds an Adjunct Professorship at California Lutheran University (CLU) in the U.S. In addition to this, Prof. (FH) Dr. Kammel has been a visiting professor / lecturer with numerous prestigious institutions in the U.S., the UK, Austria, Israel, Switzerland, Ukraine, or Thailand.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Kammel is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the interdisciplinary Research Perspectives series on “International Banking and Securities Law” with BRILL Publishing, Co-Editor of the traditional commentary on “BWG und CRR” (Austrian Banking Act and CRR) with Verlag Manz as well as Co-Editor of innovative book series on “Vertragsrecht and Vertragsgestaltung” (contract law and contract design) with facultas Verlag in Austria. Prof. (FH) Dr. Kammel is a well-published international author of more than 100 publications.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Kammel’s primary research interests are in the areas of banking law, securities regulation, financial law, business law and financial markets. Moreover, the economic analysis of the law and monetary economics are also included in his research activities.

Prof. (FH) Ing. Mag. Robert Kotal CFP ®EFA®

Robert Kotal holds a masters degree in International Business Administration from the Vienna University and finished studies in communication electronics. He has more than 20 years of experience in banking occupying various positions at Volksbank and Raiffeisen Group Austria. Currently Robert Kotal is Chief Compliance Officer at Raiffeisen Holding Niederösterreich-Wien. Apart from his teaching activities as lecturer he is engaged as on-site examiner with an European, internationally oriented agency FIBAA for quality assurance and quality development in higher education.

Dr. Christopher Kronenberg

Christopher is Head of the Institute of Competitiveness at LBS and in addition he holds an Endowed Chair for Business Model Design at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna and is affiliated faculty of Harvard Business School’s Microeconomic of Competitiveness network. In his research he focuses on the concept of competitiveness from different perspectives – on the one hand from a business perspective and how strategic innovation and business model innovation can improve their competitive position and on the other hand from the perspective of regions, cities and clusters. Topics such as digitalization and sustainability play an important and integrated role when talking about competitiveness in today’s dynamic environments.
Christopher teaches strategic and innovation management, entrepreneurship as well as Microeconomics of Competitiveness.
While working internationally, Christopher could not only gain cross-cultural working experience, but could also strengthen skills such as curiosity and resilience.

Hon. Prof. (FH) Mag. Dr. Regina Oppitz-Pfannhauser

Regina Oppitz gained her PhD in Commercial Sciences and Business Administration at Vienna University of Economics and Business and studied postgraduate at Miami University, Ohio, USA. She was awarded the Sallinger Award of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce for her master thesis.

She is the Managing Director of Kompetenz & Mehr, a consultancy company specializing in in-house and public training and coaching. She is a lecturer at Danube University Krems and at the Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) IMC Krems, UAS Chamber of WKW-Wien, UAS BFI Vienna, UAS Joanneum Graz, UAS Oberösterreich, New Design University, and Lauder Business School, as well as the University of Commerce Hanoi.

Regina began her career as a research and teaching associate at the Vienna University of Business and Economics and has worked in international finance as Senior Portfolio Manager of International Project- and Structured Finance, Head of Capital Markets Bank Austria, CFO at ASFINAG.

Dr. Sandra Pauser, MA

Sandra Pauser earned her doctoral degree in Management with distinction at the faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics, University of Vienna. Currently, she holds an Endowed Professorship in Marketing Management at Lauder Business School. Before joining LBS, she was employed as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the Chair of Marketing, University of Vienna. Pursuing her profound interests in Marketing and Sales Management, Ms. Pauser wrote her doctoral dissertation in the area of personal selling and published various academic research papers in renowned journals (i.e., Journal of Business Economics, Marketing Letters, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Journal of Research and Management). Her dissertation was awarded the highly competitive “EHI Scientific Award 2019” in the category “Best Dissertation” and won the internationally recognized “KSMS Doctoral Dissertation Competition 2018”.

Mag. (FH) Thomas Pichler, Swiss CPA

Since 2018 Thomas Pichler is the head of group accounting and regulatory reporting with HYPO NOE Landesbank für Niederösterreich und Wien AG, participates in different working groups of the Austrian Financial Reporting and Auditing Committee (AFRAC), publishes on credit risk, international accounting and controlling and is lecturer at several different educational institutions. From 2014 to 2018 he was member of the Austrian Financial Reporting Enforcement Panel (AFREP) and accomplished successfully the Swiss Certification of Public Accountancy specialized in financial services focused on the banking industry in 2012. He holds a Magister diploma degree in Controlling & Finance from the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in Austria and has gathered over 14 years of experience in the fields of corporate reporting and auditing in different countries, mainly in Austria and Switzerland.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Hanno Pöschl, MSc, MBA

Hanno Poeschl gained his PhD in Business Administration and Economics from the University Trier/GER and holds Master degrees in International Finance and Accounting as well as Business Administration (MBA) from the OUBS/UK and is a Certified International Controller. Before joining Lauder Business School/AUT in 2014 he has been Research Professor for Strategic Management and Corporate Finance at Webster University/US since 2008, where he also served as area coordinator for Business administration and Management. In 2014 the professorship was bestowed by Lauder Business School upon him. He served as Director of Studies of the two master programs “International Management and Leadership” and “Banking, Finance and Compliance” at LBS until 2018.

He holds/has held positions as lecturer at prestigious English, American and Austrian Universities, where he teaches/taught Strategic Management, Corporate Finance as well as Accounting and Controlling courses at Bachelor and Master level in the UK, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. He serves/served as Senator of the faculty senate, member of the Council, member of scientific advisory boards and as standing member in examination boards.

He has also been involved in corporate training at C-level for international companies in various sectors. Before entering his academic career, he accumulated senior management position experience in the private sector, public administration and in politics as Member of Parliament.

Dr. András Puskás, CAIA

András has been working in finance for over ten years in both advisory and principal investment roles. He started his career in London at the TMT investment management team of Macquarie, the largest global infrastructure investor worldwide. Currently, he works in the Corporate Finance advisory team of Credit Suisse in Zurich, focusing on M&A transactions across Europe. He has a JD in Law and a Masters in Business and is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Dr. Alexander Rabas, MSc

Alexander Rabas studied Statistics and Economics at the University of Vienna and finished his PhD in the field of Behavioral Economics. Among his research topics are statistics, risk management, game theory and gender models in the labor market. Currently, he is employed as a data scientist at Win2Day Holdings.

Andreas Rajchl, MA

Andreas Rajchl was born on January 26, 1987 in Vienna and studied Social Sciences and Business Administration at the Vienna University of Business and Economics, including an exchange year at the University of Edinburgh and specializing in finance and entrepreneurship. After completing a graduate program in Economics and Business at the University College London and Jagiellonian University Cracow, Andreas initially worked as trainee at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance, before joining the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) in 2014. In 2016, Andreas joined the executive board office at the FMA, advising board members and preparing decisions on supervisory and regulatory matters across all sectors of the financial market. Since 1 September 2020, Andreas is seconded to the European Commission, joining the DG FISMA Unit on Sustainable Finance.

Dr. Barbara Redlein Partner, Risk Assurance

Barbara is a Partner and leads the Risk Assurance practice at PwC in Austria. She holds a master’s degree and a PhD in International Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The focus of Barbara´s professional experience of 19 years lies in the audit and consulting of large companies and SMEs in the area of business processes and IT, among others, management testing for SOX controls, experience with PCAOB reviews, evaluation and validation of internal control environments over information technology, implementation and auditing of internal risk management and controls systems within the framework of internal compliance projects, digitalization projects for national and international companies where value is delivered to the client using process intelligence tools like Celonis or Signavio). In her career she managed both national as well as international projects within a wide range of industries involving also large-scale SAP Transformation projects.
Currently, she provides companies with ongoing support in optimizing their internal controls systems, adapting their IT systems, processes and controls to new challenges such as SAP S/4 HANA and ensures that transformation projects are successful.

ao.Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Mag.rer.soc.oec. Dr.techn. Alexander Redlein

Dr. Alexander Redlein is a university professor for Real Estate and Facility Management at the Vienna University of Technology, the President of REUG and the past President of IFMA Austria.

He finished his interdisciplinary studies at the Vienna University of Technology and at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. He has been engaged in research, education and consultancy in the area of facility management for more than 20 years.

He is the head of the research group “Real Estate and Facility Management” (IFM) at the Vienna University of Technology which consists of 15 researchers. Beside his research activities he acts as a strategic advisor, sets up FM concepts for international companies and municipalities. He optimised their FM processes, ICT and workplace management.

As a researcher he conducted international studies about the macro- and micro-economic importance of FM. His workplace research concentrates on the influence of workplace on the productivity and well-being of the employees. He also analysed the impact of digitalisation and automation on workplace management, facility management and services.

In addition, he heads the MBA programme for FM at the Vienna University of Technology and several FM certification courses in CEE and also in India.

Since September 2019 he is member of the international teaching staff at Stanford University.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Christian Reiner

Christian Reiner studied economic geography, history, and economics at the University of Vienna and the University of Salzburg. He has a doctoral degree in economic geography (University of Salzburg) and experience in basic and applied empirical economic research (Vienna University of Economics and Business, Joanneum Research, Institute for Advanced Studies). Christian Reiner works as a senior scientist at the Lauder Business School and as a lecturer in economics, economic geography, and statistics at the University of Vienna, Modul University Vienna, University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna and the FHWien University of Applied Sciences of WKW. His fields of interest include regional economics and industrial organization. Mr. Reiner’s research has added insights into the following topics: Structural change, growth policy, innovation, human capital mobility, industrial policy, green growth, and policy evaluation.

MMag. Christian Schindler

Christian Schindler works at Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB), the central bank of the Republic of Austria. He is in the Off-Site Supervision Division for Significant Institutions and a member of a Joint Supervisory Team with the ECB. Previously, he was a Financial Institutions Analyst at Fitch Ratings Ltd., VTB Bank (Deutschland) AG, and Raiffeisen Bank International AG. He graduated in International Business Administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and in History at the University of Vienna.

Dr. Michael Schönhart, MBA, MSc, CFA, FRM

Michael Schoenhart has an extensive research and teaching background in financial management, artificial intelligence, and agent-based computational economics, as well as many years of professional experience in the quantitative investment industry. He gained experience in investment banking, as a portfolio manager, and founded a data science company. He holds a PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Vienna, an MSc Finance degree from UBC, Canada, and is a FRM and CFA Charterholder.

In 2015 he joined the Supervision Policy, Regulation and Strategy Division of the Austrian Central Bank. His primary responsibilities are quantitative analysis and engineering of tools related to national and EU-wide banking stress tests.

Furthermore, he is the author of two books and several publications in the field of agent-based economic modelling, quantitative investment management, and behavioural finance.

Gilbert Silvius, PhD, MSc, MBA

Gilbert Silvius is professor of project and programme management at LOI University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, visiting professor at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa and fellow at Turku University of Applied Sciences in Finland. He is considered a leading expert in the field of sustainability in project management and is a frequent and inspirational speaker on project management and sustainability events.

As a practitioner, Gilbert has over 20 years’ experience in organizational change and IT projects and is a member of the international enable2change network of project management experts. He has published several books and numerous studies and articles. Gilbert holds a PhD degree in information sciences from Utrecht University and masters’ degrees in economics and business administration. He is also a certified project manager, scrum master and product owner.

Hon. Prof. (FH) Dr. Dagmar Silvius-Zuchi

Dagmar Silvius-Zuchi is a senior consultant and trainer. For a period of around 20 years, she has gained valuable experience in managing and consulting projects, programmes, managing and supporting changes and developing people. She is a lecturer at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business and at several other universities. Dagmar got a certification as senior project manager by IPMA (Level B), by PMI (PMP) and PRINCE2 (P2 Practitioner) and has in-depth knowledge of project management standards. She contributed for over 9 years in the development of diverse ISO Standards within the ISO TC 258 on project, programme and portfolio management and in this context took over the role of the Country representative of the Austrian Mirror Committee (ASI) for several years. Dagmar Silvius-Zuchi is co-founder and manager of the network enable2change.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Mag. Christin Vallinkoski, MA

Christin Vallinkoski studied Political Science, Communication Science, and Literature in Austria and England. She holds a master degree with distinction in Communication Science from the University of Vienna and a master degree with distinction in Literary Studies from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at OU/England. She earned her PhD with distinction under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Eva Kreisky at the Institute of Political Science with a dissertation about the role of literature between the poles of critical political awareness and state-constitution as well as state-support in authoritarian political systems. She works/worked as an expert advisor and scientific assistant in public administration and several university settings, as a journalist and author. She has published several short stories in anthologies like West-Östliche Diven (DTV) and En Detail (Holzhausen).

Sebastian Wieser, MSc, MSc

Sebastian Wieser works as a Senior Consultant in the Management Consulting team of PwC Austria. He is specialized in Big Data Business Analytics as well as Digitization of processes. Sebastian has experience from various national and international consulting projects. The clients, Sebastian worked for, are both from the finance and the industry sector. The projects content ranges from the implementation of a Datawarehouse to the analysis of a bank’s risk evaluation models. Throughout his years in the consulting industry, the variety and the broad scope of projects made Sebastian an expert for business analysis related techniques.

In addition to his work at PwC Sebastian frequently holds guest lectures at the University of Innsbruck and at the Management Center of Innsbruck.

He holds a master’s degree in Econometrics – Big Data Business Analytics (University of Amsterdam) as well as a master’s degree in Applied Economics (University of Innsbruck), during which he spent an exchange semester at the University of Gothenburg. He participated in several renowned conferences concerning advances in Artificial Intelligence. Sebastian is an enthusiast regarding digitization and its related topics such as machine learning and the blockchain technology. His passion is ski touring and hiking.

Andrew Wood, BSc (Econ), ACA

Andrew is a world-renowned and multiple award-winning Equity Research Analyst, with many years of experience working on Wall Street, in professional accounting and in the Food & Beverage Industry.

Andrew graduated in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics, and then spent 6 years with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, earning his ACA (ICAEW Chartered Accountant) qualification. In addition to Auditing in the UK and Spain, Andrew spent extensive time in the PWC National Training Office in London developing and presenting training courses, with a special focus on new graduate recruits.

Andrew then spent 10 years in the Food & Beverage industry in Europe, firstly with PepsiCo, rising to become CFO of Western Europe for Pepsi Cola International, and later at Kraft-Nabisco as CFO of Europe, Middle East & Africa, and CEO of Southern Europe.

Andrew then moved to Wall Street with Bernstein Research, a highly regarded Wall Street research company. Over 19 years, in New York and Singapore, Andrew and his team published over 3,000 research notes, ranging from short results commentary to fundamental industry analysis via the renowned Bernstein “Black Books”. Andrew became world renowned for his research and received numerous prestigious awards from investors, including:

– “Best European Research Analyst” (across all countries and all sectors) at the annual Extel Awards (“The City Oscars”) on 10 occasions between 2005-2015.

– “Best Analyst” award by City AM in 2010, for research on the acquisition of Cadbury PLC by Kraft Inc.

– “Best European Food Analyst” in the Institutional Investor Awards on 15 occasions between 2004-2019.

– “Best European Household & Personal Care Analyst” in the Institutional Investor Awards on 9 occasions between 2009-2019.

– Recognised as the most successful ever European Research Analyst in the 25-year history of Institutional Investor as part of their anniversary awards in 2016.

Andrew retired from Wall Street in 2020 to become a Private Investor and to pursue his passion for teaching.
