We are very excited to present the output of our Graduate Research Assistant Program at Lauder Business School. In the past academic year Prof. (FH) Dr. Armin Kammel, LL.M. (London), MBA (CLU) Ehrenprofessor (Donau-Universität Krems) collaborated with two Lauder Business School master students from the Banking, Finance and Compliance (BFC) program, Evgeniia Chukhareva (BFC15) and Ermina Prnjavorac (BFC16).

For the third time in a row, LBS has received an Erasmus+ grant (K107) from the European Commission. In the period from June 2018 to July 2020, LBS can use this grant to further deepen its collaboration with three renowned Israeli universities: Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya and Bar-Ilan University.

The rising power of firms is a major topic for economists and business scholars. While managers try to gain market power by applying several (legal and sometimes even illegal) strategies, society may suffer from welfare losses and higher inequality as a result. While these issues are more discussed in the US than in Europe, an increasing number of publications are devoted to the analysis of corporate power and its consequences within Europe.

On May 24, 2018 we had the privilege to host external lecturer Ms Larissa Dauchner, who works in the field of brand management in the Hotel Sacher Marketing Department. As part of the Statistics for Economics and Business 2 course led by our Senior Researcher Dr. Christian Reiner, our bachelor students had the opportunity to hear her firsthand experience and learn about use and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data in the development of the Hotel Sacher’s marketing strategy and operations.
