New business models and concepts have already disrupted traditional businesses and value chains and still continue to do so. How can we use our experience with past events to respond to future developments? Is re-thinking conventional business strategies the key?

Lauder Business School and FHWien der WKW are happy to invite lecturers and staff to the LBS Ball Room on January 24 at 19:00 for the Talk delivered by Andreas Schachenhuber as a joint project supported by MA23:

How pioneers in digital business like Amazon, Airbnb, Spotify & Co. change our way of thinking about business

The music industry has gone through several disruption phases in the last 30 years. Based on this case study Andreas Schachenhuber provides insights related to the different phases:

  • What triggers developments like that?
  • How do existing businesses in the industry react?
  • What are the effects on the customers?
  • What are the long-term effects as well as implications in terms of diversity and sustainability?

Napster teaches us a lot about disruption. We closely examine these effects and why the statement of Marc Andreessen “Technology is eating the world!” holds true. What we have witnessed in the music industry is just the beginning and we will see similar patterns in more traditional industries – the “old economy” – in the future. This is not science-fiction, this is the present. Click here for the official invitation.

Please register for the event at office@lbs.ac.at by January 16, 2019.

We are looking forward to interesting discussion and networking.
