We are the first University of Applied Sciences in Austria to have this state-of-the-art flagship service provider!

LBS is proud to announce that students can now access the Bloomberg Terminal/Bloomberg Finance Lab on campus – a tool that is used by leading business and financial professionals worldwide. The Bloomberg Terminal is a software platform that provides real-time and historical data, market moving news and analytics to help leading business and finance professionals worldwide make better informed investment decisions.

The university’s subscriptions to the Bloomberg Terminal will serve as a resource for both students and professors and is already integrated in the study programs. It will enable students to become familiar with tools used in financial services, reinforcing classroom theory, gathering data for group projects and theses, while professors can use it to further their own research.

Furthermore, every student and lecturer has the opportunity:

  • to monitor/download/analyze state-of-the-art finance-related data;
  • to attend Bloomberg University courses and deepen their knowledge in an autodidactic way with the assistance of webinars;
  • to earn a Bloomberg certificate (Bloomberg Market Concept) after passing an 8-hour self-paced e-learning course
  • to attend the seminars offered by the Bloomberg Center in Vienna free of charge.

Julia Dörflinger (Bloomberg Account Manager) held an introductory session on December 20, 2018 which was received by acclaim by the LBS Faculty.

Having Bloomberg terminals on our campus is a major leap forward and an exceptional development. Based on the feedback of real-world practitioners, having access to a myriad of data and sophisticated business analytics tools and the fact that they are integrated in the study programs will further foster the clear competitive advantage LBS students have on the job market.
