On March 2, our second semester bachelor students from the International Business Administration program had the opportunity to visit Vienna International Airport (Flughafen Wien) with Dr. Engelhardt as part of their Corporate Communication class.

Vienna International Airport is famous for corporate communication programs such as the Dialog Forum with neighboring communities, as well as for the many events they organize for external stakeholders and employees. Our LBS students enjoyed this field trip and could well connect the theoretical input from the communication classes with the airport communication strategy and daily operations.

“I always include field trips to companies in Vienna. My objective is to communicate some main rules about corporate communication: The first one is that you have to know the company for which you want to communicate. And the second one is that every company is different and needs different made-to-measure communication measures.” as Dr. Engelhardt explains. Another upcoming field trip will be the visit to Microsoft Austria, where the focus will be on employee communication.

As a University of Applied Sciences, Lauder Business School places great emphasis on close cooperation with companies. The hands-on experience is an integral part of our curricula and we are happy to include company visits and field trips in our classes.
