Mexican Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP) and LBS have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their academic partnership. Both UPAEP and LBS are active members of the Harvard Microeconomics of Competitiveness (MOC) Network. Inspired by its motto “Culture at the service of the people”, UPAEP’s main mission is to create currents of thought and form leaders that transform society. UPAEP was founded in 1973 and encompasses over 42 major disciplines within six faculties in the areas of Business, Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, Health Sciences and Arts. The Puebla-based university offers degrees at all levels, including double degree programs with schools in the U.S. and executive education as part of its Institute of Higher Studies in Business Management. UPAEP serves both its local community and a growing number of students and researchers from across Mexico, the Americas and the entire world. UPAEP has been involved in MOC activities for a decade. It stands out for its comparative research on economic development and competitiveness in Latin America, the US, and Canada. Furthermore, it disseminates economic data and analyses among entrepreneurial and governmental leaders to facilitate strategic decision-making.
