Dr. Christian Reiner, senior researcher at Lauder Business School, has co-authored the “Austrian Research and Technology Report 2019”. This annual report has been published by three Austrian ministries and written by external experts from applied research institutes and universities. Given the importance of the report for the wider public, it is an honor to contribute to this official publication.
This year’s report deals mainly with digitalisation and the evaluation of the Austrian “Strategy for research, technology and innovation of the Austrian Federal Government” which aims to push the national innovation system into the top league of Europe’s most innovative nations (“innovation leaders”) by 2020. Mr Reiner contributed three sub-chapters to the evaluation part of the report (3.4.3, 3.5.2, 3.5.3). The topics of the sub-chapters are as follows: (1) Science-industry linkages, (2) mission oriented research policy and (3) the optimization of public support systems for research and innovation.
