ÖSD Testing Center

Since 2008 Lauder Business School has been an examination center where LBS students can obtain the Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch (ÖSD). From January 2013 LBS has paid the exam fees for all students of German taking an ÖSD exam at the end of the 5th semester. As of this year, ÖSD exams will be held at the end of each Winter Semester. For students of German in the 5th semester the exam is mandatory, but all other LBS students are welcome to take an ÖSD exam at their own expense.

Further information about the ÖSD exams will be distributed at the end of each calendar year or can be obtained anytime from Mag. Ulrike Zehetmayr.

What is the ÖSD?

The ÖSD is a state-recognised examination system for German as a foreign language. In 1998, the ÖSD was awarded the “European Seal for innovative language initiatives” from the European Commission. Currently, more than 20,000 ÖSD exams take place worldwide per year at more than 300 licensed ÖSD examination centres.

How can you benefit from the ÖSD?

This language certificate is an asset for your CV, and preparing for it is an incentive to improve your German. Good German skills will make it much easier for you to find an internship or a job in a German-speaking country. Furthermore, you need to present such a certificate (level B2 or C1) if you want to study at an Austrian, German or Swiss university.
